Introduction
The MIC29302W is a high-current, low-dropout voltage regulator utilizing a proprietary Super Beta PNP process and PNP pass element. This 3A LDO regulator features a dropout voltage of 300mV to 370mV (full load) and extremely low ground current. The device is designed for high-current loads while also being suitable for low-current, low-dropout critical systems with stringent requirements on dropout voltage and ground current. The regulator provides ±2% total accuracy over temperature, line, and load variations, along with exceptionally fast transient response to input voltage surges and output load current changes. The MIC29302W features an adjustable output, with the voltage settable between 1.24V and 25V via two external resistors. Additionally, the device offers comprehensive protection against overcurrent faults, reverse input polarity, reversed leads, and over-temperature operation. The MIC29302W provides a TTL/CMOS logic enable pin for regulator shutdown. If not used, the device can be kept in continuous operation by connecting the EN pin to the input pin. The MIC29302W is available in standard TO-263-5, TO-220-5, and TO-252 packages, with an operating junction temperature range of –40°C to +125°C.
