Introduction
CD4051 is a digitally controlled multiplexer/analog switch with low on-resistance and low off-state leakage current. It handles analog signal amplitudes up to 15Vₚ₋ₚ. For example, with VDD = 5V, GND = 0V, and VSS = -5V, the device uses 0V ~ 5V digital signals to control the transmission of -5V ~ +5V analog signals. The device is an 8-to-1 analog switch featuring three binary control inputs A0, A1, A2 and an enable input EN. The three binary input signals select any one of 8 analog channels to conduct. When the EN input is logic "1", all analog channels are disabled; when logic "0", all analog channels are enabled. CD4051 is available in SOP-16, DIP-16, TSSOP-16, QSOP-16, and QFN-16 packages.
