HGSEMI MAX485EIDQ/TR

The MAX485E is a +5.0V single-supply RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with ±16kV ESD protection. The device integrates a failsafe circuit that holds the receiver output at a logic-high level when the receiver inputs are open-circuited, short-circuited, or all transmitters on the bus are disabled. The full product family supports hot-swap capability, suppressing glitch transients on the bus during power-up or hot-insertion events. The driver delivers an output voltage swing exceeding 2.1V (into a 54Ω load), ensuring higher noise margin, with an unslew-rate-limited driver supporting data rates up to 10Mbps. The device is designed for half-duplex communication, with a receiver input impedance of 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on a single bus. Products are available in commercial and industrial temperature ranges, in 8-pin DIP, SOP, and MSOP packages.
