Introduction
ESP32-WROVER-E and ESP32-WROVER-IE are two general-purpose Wi-Fi + BT + BLE MCU modules that are powerful and versatile, suitable for low-power sensor networks as well as demanding applications such as voice encoding, audio streaming, and MP3 decoding. ESP32-WROVER-E features an on-board PCB antenna, while ESP32-WROVER-IE uses an IPEX antenna. Both modules are equipped with 4 MB SPI flash and 8 MB SPI PSRAM. The ESP32-D0WD-V3 chip is scalable and adaptive. The two CPU cores can be controlled independently. The CPU clock frequency is adjustable from 80 MHz to 240 MHz. Users can power down the CPU and use the low-power coprocessor to monitor peripheral state changes or whether certain analog values exceed defined thresholds. ESP32 also integrates a rich set of peripherals, including capacitive touch sensors, Hall sensors, SD card interface, Ethernet interface, high-speed SPI, UART, I2S, and I²C. The module integrates classic Bluetooth, BLE, and Wi-Fi, enabling a wide range of applications: Wi-Fi supports broad-range connectivity and direct internet access via a router, while Bluetooth allows users to connect to mobile phones or broadcast BLE Beacons for signal detection. The ESP32 chip's sleep current is less than 5 μA, making it well-suited for battery-powered wearable electronics. The module supports data transfer rates up to 150 Mbps and antenna output power up to 20 dBm, enabling maximum-range wireless communication. As a result, this module offers industry-leading specifications with exceptional performance in integration density, wireless range, power consumption, and network connectivity. The operating system for ESP32 is freeRTOS with LwIP, with built-in TLS 1.2 hardware acceleration. The chip also supports encrypted OTA upgrades, allowing users to continue updating their products after release.
