ESP-WROOM-02D and ESP-WROOM-02U are SMT modules integrating the ESP8266EX, with optimized RF performance over the ESP-WROOM-02. The ESP8266EX features an ultra-low-power Tensilica L106 32-bit RISC processor with CPU clock speeds up to 160MHz, supporting RTOS and Wi-Fi protocol stack, leaving up to 80% of processing capacity available for application programming and development. The chip integrates an on-chip memory controller and memory units including ROM and SRAM, and supports external Flash via SPI interface with a theoretical maximum of 16MB SPI Flash — ESP-WROOM-02D and ESP-WROOM-02U are configured with 2MB SPI Flash. Both modules use a 26MHz crystal oscillator with a required accuracy of ±10PPM. The ESP-WROOM-02U integrates a U.FL connector and requires an IPEX antenna.
