Introduction
CH347 is a high-speed USB bus conversion chip that provides an asynchronous serial port, I2C synchronous serial interface, SPI synchronous serial interface, and JTAG interface over the USB bus. In asynchronous serial port mode, it provides two high-speed serial ports with support for RS485 transceiver enable control, hardware flow control, and common MODEM handshake signals, used to expand asynchronous serial ports for computers or upgrade ordinary serial port devices to the USB bus. In synchronous serial interface mode, it provides one 2-wire I2C interface and one 4-wire SPI interface, used to expand synchronous serial interfaces for computers and operate devices such as EEPROMs, Flash memory, and sensors. In JTAG interface mode, it provides a JTAG interface supporting 4/5/6-wire configurations, used to expand JTAG interfaces for computers and operate devices such as CPUs, DSPs, FPGAs, and CPLDs. In SWD interface mode, it provides an SWD interface used to expand SWD interfaces for computers and operate devices such as ARM MCUs and CPUs.
Features
- 480Mbps high-speed USB device interface; only crystal oscillator and capacitors required externally.
- Built-in EEPROM for configuring operating mode, chip VID, PID, maximum current, manufacturer and product information strings, and other parameters.
- Single 3.3V supply. CH347F supports independent I/O power supply, compatible with 3.3V, 2.5V, and 1.8V supply voltages.
- Available in TSSOP-20 and QFN28 lead-free packages, RoHS compliant.
- Multiple operating modes to meet various high-speed USB adapter application requirements.
- Built-in firmware emulating standard serial ports, for upgrading legacy serial peripherals or adding extra serial ports via USB.
- Fully compatible with serial port applications under Windows OS on the host side; no modification required.
- Hardware full-duplex serial port with independent built-in TX/RX buffers; supports baud rates from 1200bps to 9Mbps.
- Serial port supports 5/6/7/8 data bits; supports None/Odd/Even/Space/Mark parity; supports 1/2 stop bits.
- Each serial port features a built-in 12K-byte RX FIFO and 4K-byte TX FIFO.
- Supports common MODEM control signals: RTS, DTR, DCD, RI, DSR, CTS.
- Supports CTS and RTS hardware automatic flow control.
- Supports half-duplex operation with TNOW TX status output for RS485 TX/RX direction control.
- Supports up to 8 GPIO input/output channels.
- Supports RS232, RS485, RS422, and other interfaces via external level-shifting devices.
- I2C interface in master mode, providing SCL and SDA signal lines; supports multiple transfer speeds up to 1MHz.
- Flexible control of 2-wire A/D, D/A, EEPROM, sensors, and other devices via host-side API.
- SPI interface in master mode, providing SCS, SCK/CLK, MISO/SDI/DIN, and MOSI/SDO/DOUT signal lines.
- Supports 2 chip select lines for time-multiplexed operation of 2 SPI devices.
- Supports 8-bit/16-bit data formats; supports MSB and LSB transfer.
- Supports SPI modes 0/1/2/3; configurable transfer frequency up to 60MHz.
- Supports hardware DMA transmit and receive.
- Flexible control of 4-wire FLASH, MCU, sensors, and other devices via host-side API.
- JTAG interface in master mode, providing TMS, TCK, TDI, TDO, TRST (optional), and SRST (optional) signal lines.
- Supports high-speed USB data transfer.
- Flexible control of CPU, DSP, FPGA, CPLD, MCU, and other devices via host-side API.
- SWD interface in master mode, providing SWDCLK and SWDIO signal lines.
- Flexible control of ARM MCU, CPU, and other devices via host-side API.
