ADI ADM3251EARWZ

The ADM3251E is a high-speed, 2.5 kV fully isolated, single-channel RS-232/V.28 transceiver powered by a single 5V supply. High-voltage ESD protection on the pins makes this device well-suited for use in harsh electrical environments or applications involving frequent RS-232 cable insertion and removal. The ADM3251E integrates a dual-channel digital isolator with an isoPower isolated power supply, eliminating the need for a separate isolated DC-DC converter. The iCoupler chip-scale transformer technology simultaneously isolates logic signals and drives the integrated DC-DC converter, enabling a fully isolated solution. The ADM3251E incorporates isoPower technology, using high-frequency switching elements to transfer power through a transformer. The ADM3251E complies with EIA/TIA-232E and ITU-T V.28 specifications, supporting data rates up to 460 kbps. The voltage doubler/inverter uses four 0.1 μF external charge pump capacitors, allowing the device to operate from a single 5V supply. The ADM3251E is offered in a 20-lead wide-body SOIC package, rated for a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
