Introduction
Applications with only a positive supply voltage typically require an additional stable voltage positioned at the midpoint of the ADC input range to bias the input bipolar signal. The REF20xx provides a reference voltage (VREF) for use by the ADC and a high-precision voltage (VBIAS) for biasing the input bipolar signal.
The REF20xx features excellent temperature drift (8ppm/°C maximum) and initial accuracy (0.05%) at both the VREF and VBIAS outputs, while maintaining quiescent current below 430μA. Furthermore, the VREF and VBIAS outputs track each other across the −40°C to 125°C temperature range with 6ppm/°C accuracy (maximum). Combined, these characteristics enable the REF20xx to improve signal chain accuracy, reduce board space, and lower system cost compared to discrete solutions. An ultra-low dropout of only 10mV allows the device to operate at very low input voltages, making it well suited for battery-powered systems.
The VREF and VBIAS voltages share equally impressive specifications, with strong sink and source current capability. These devices offer excellent long-term stability and low noise levels, making them ideal for high-precision industrial applications.
