Introduction
The HT7036 series is a multi-function, high-accuracy three-phase energy metering IC designed for three-phase three-wire and three-phase four-wire applications. It integrates six second-order sigma-delta ADCs, a voltage reference circuit, and DSP circuitry for all power, energy, RMS, power factor, and frequency measurements. The device measures per-phase and combined active power, reactive power, apparent power, active energy, and reactive energy, as well as per-phase current RMS, voltage RMS, power factor, phase angle, and frequency, fully meeting the requirements of three-phase multi-rate multi-function energy meters. It supports full digital-domain gain and phase calibration — i.e., pure software meter calibration. The active and reactive energy pulse outputs CF1 and CF2 provide instantaneous active and reactive power information and can be connected directly to a reference meter for error calibration. Two apparent power and energy metering modes are provided: RMS apparent mode and PQS apparent mode. Fundamental parameter metering is supported, including fundamental active power, fundamental active energy, and fundamental current and voltage RMS values. After configuring the relevant registers, fundamental reactive power and fundamental reactive energy are available, with instantaneous fundamental reactive power information provided via pulse output CF2, which can be used directly for fundamental reactive calibration. An SPI interface is provided for convenient transfer of metering and calibration parameters between the device and an external MCU; all metering and calibration parameters are readable via the SPI interface. An on-chip voltage monitoring circuit ensures normal operation during power-up and power-down sequences.
