Introduction
The AD8397 contains two voltage feedback amplifiers capable of driving heavy loads with excellent linearity. The common-emitter, rail-to-rail output stage provides superior output voltage swing compared to a typical emitter-follower output stage, swinging to within 0.5 V of either supply rail when driving a 25 Ω load. Low distortion, high output current, and wide output dynamic range make the AD8397 particularly suited for applications requiring large signal swings into heavy loads.
The AD8397 is fabricated on a high speed extra fast complementary bipolar high voltage (XFCB-HV) process, with high bandwidth and fast slew rate characteristics that minimize distortion. It is available in a standard 8-lead SOIC_N package; for higher power dissipation applications, an thermally enhanced 8-lead SOIC_N_EP package is also offered. Both packages operate over a temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.
