TI DRV632PWR

The DRV632 is a 2VRMS pop-free stereo line driver designed to eliminate output DC-blocking capacitors, reducing component count and cost. It is ideal for single-supply electronics where size and cost are critical design parameters.

The DRV632 is designed using DirectPath proprietary technology, capable of driving 2VRMS into a 10kΩ load from a 3.3V supply. The device features differential inputs and uses external gain-setting resistors to support a gain range of ±1V to ±10V, with independently configurable gain per channel. The line outputs feature ±8kV IEC ESD protection, requiring only a simple resistor-capacitor ESD protection network. The DRV632 includes built-in active mute control for pop-free audio on/off control. It also features an external undervoltage detector that mutes the outputs when power is removed, ensuring pop-free shutdown operation.

Compared to conventional approaches for generating a 2VRMS output, using the DRV632 in audio products significantly reduces component count. The DRV632 requires neither a supply voltage higher than 3.3V to generate its 5.6Vpp output, nor a split-rail supply. An integrated charge pump generates a negative supply rail, providing a well-regulated pop-free ground-referenced 2VRMS output.

The DRV632 is available in a 14-pin TSSOP package.
