Introduction
The ADS131A02 and ADS131A04 are dual-channel and quad-channel synchronous sampling 24-bit ΔΣ ADCs. The ADS131A02 and ADS131A04 feature wide dynamic range, scalable data rates up to 128kSPS, and integrated fault monitors, making them well-suited for energy monitoring, grid protection, and control applications. The ADC inputs can be connected directly and independently to resistor divider networks, current transformers, or Rogowski coils to measure voltage or current. Both devices offer flexible power supply options, including an internal negative charge pump, to maximize effective resolution and are ideal for wide dynamic range applications. Both devices provide asynchronous and synchronous master-slave interface options, enabling flexible ADC configuration implementation for a single system consisting of multiple daisy-chained devices. The interface includes multiple interface checks, ADC startup checks, and data integrity check features to report errors within the ADC and during data transmission. This complete AFE solution is available in a 32-pin TQFP package, rated for an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
