Introduction
The CC1310 is a cost-effective, ultra-low-power sub-1 GHz and 2.4 GHz RF device in the CC26xx and CC13xx family. It features extremely low active RF and MCU current consumption, along with flexible low-power modes, ensuring outstanding battery life for long-range operation powered by small coin-cell batteries and energy harvesting applications.
The CC1310 is the first device in the sub-1 GHz series of cost-effective, ultra-low-power wireless MCUs. The CC1310 combines a flexible ultra-low-power RF transceiver with a powerful 48 MHz Cortex-M3 MCU on a platform supporting multiple physical layers and RF standards. A dedicated wireless controller (Cortex-M0) handles low-level RF protocol commands stored in ROM or RAM, ensuring ultra-low power consumption and flexibility. The CC1310 achieves low power without sacrificing RF performance, delivering excellent sensitivity and robustness (selectivity and blocking) characteristics.
The CC1310 is a highly integrated, true single-chip solution incorporating a complete RF system and an on-chip DC-DC converter.
Sensors can be processed in an ultra-low-power manner by a dedicated ultra-low-power autonomous MCU, which can be configured to handle analog and digital sensors, allowing the main MCU (Cortex-M3) to maximize sleep time.
The CC1310 power and clock management and wireless system require specific configuration and software handling for correct operation — all of which has been implemented in TI-RTOS. TI recommends using this software framework for all application development targeting the device. The complete TI-RTOS and device drivers are available free of charge in source code form.
