Introduction
The 74HC164D is a high-speed CMOS circuit with pinouts compatible with low-power Schottky TTL series. The device is an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out, edge-triggered shift register. Serial data is entered through the DSA and DSB inputs; on each rising edge of clock CP, data shifts one position to the right. The input data is generated by ANDing DSA and DSB, and must meet the setup time requirements prior to the rising edge. An active-low reset signal clears the register directly, forcing all outputs low.
