Introduction
TEC5V4A-D is an electronic module specifically designed to drive TECs (Thermoelectric Coolers). It features high stability, high energy efficiency, zero EMI, and a compact form factor for precise object temperature regulation. The module provides multiple interfaces for configuring the desired temperature range (i.e., setpoint temperature range), maximum voltage across the TEC, and the compensation network. The compensation network compensates for higher-order thermal loads to stabilize the temperature control loop. This controller offers thermistor T-R linearization, temperature measurement and monitoring, temperature control loop status indication, TEC voltage monitoring, power-on delay, and shutdown functions. The TEC5V4A-D incorporates a highly stable, low-noise 3.0V reference voltage, allowing the target object temperature to be set via a POT (potentiometer) or DAC. The error between the setpoint temperature and measured temperature cancels out, providing high stability in object temperature setting. Similarly, the ADC uses this voltage as a reference, making measurement results independent of reference voltage variations and thus more accurate. The TEC5V4A-D is housed in a six-sided metal enclosure that shields against EMI, preventing interference between the controller and other electronic components.
