UTC U3525 is a PWM IC designed for switching power supply applications, aimed at enhancing performance and reducing external component count. Its shutdown terminal simultaneously controls the soft-start circuit and output stage — providing instantaneous shutdown via the PWM latch during pulse turn-off, and soft-start cycling during extended shutdown commands. The output stage uses NOR logic, driving outputs low in the off state. The undervoltage lockout circuit keeps outputs off and discharges the soft-start capacitor during abnormal input voltage conditions; its built-in ~500 mV hysteresis ensures jitter-free operation. The PWM circuit also incorporates a latch after the comparator. Once a PWM pulse is terminated, the output remains off for the remainder of that cycle. The latch resets at each clock pulse. The output stage features a totem-pole configuration capable of sourcing or sinking in excess of 200 mA.
