VPS6501 is an isolated DCDC switching power supply integrated controller for push-pull topology, featuring a built-in pair of 0.3Ω nLDMOS power transistors, supporting applications with supply voltages ranging from 2.8V to 6V at various power levels. When current exceeds the limit, a clamp restricts the power transistor current, ensuring the chip operates within its safe operating area while protecting peripheral components from high-current stress. The operating frequency of VPS6501 is internally set, and a dead-band time t<sub>BBM</sub> is designed between the two drive signals to prevent shoot-through and reduce the drain-source voltage during power transistor turn-on, thereby minimizing switching losses.
VPS6501 is a push-pull transformer driver specifically designed for compact, low standby power, micro-power isolated supplies. With only simple input/output filter capacitors, an isolation transformer, and a rectifier circuit as peripheral components, it can implement an isolated power supply with 3.3V or 5V input, 3.3V~24V output, and 1~2W output power. The VPS6501 integrates an internal oscillator that provides a pair of high-accuracy complementary signals to drive two N-channel MOSFETs. The internal circuitry is designed with a symmetrical architecture to ensure a high degree of symmetry between the two power MOSFETs, preventing magnetic flux imbalance during operation.
