Load Controls TP-2-50HZ

The TP-2 sensor measures motor electrical input (horsepower) and outputs a 4-20mA loop-powered analog signal proportional to power. For voltage, 120VAC is derived from two phases — if the motor starter already has a 120V control transformer, it can be used; otherwise, a separate transformer must be installed. In 120/208V three-phase systems, the 120V must come from a transformer connected across two phases; 120V phase-to-ground voltage cannot be used. The current signal is taken from the remaining phase by passing that wire directly through the TP-2 window, and the current signal must come from the phase that does not supply the 120V control transformer. The analog output is 4-20mA loop-powered with a maximum loop voltage of 28VDC. Capacity can be selected by toggling one (or both) DIP switches; for different rated voltages, multiply the 460V full-scale value by the corresponding factor. For smaller motors, the wire can be passed through the window multiple times; for larger motors, the TP-2 can be used with a current transformer or power unit.
