Introduction
The sensor detects "particulate matter (PM) in the air" using an optical method. This sensor uses a laser diode (LD) as the light-emitting device and a photodiode (PD) as the light-receiving device. The LD inside the sensor emits light into the air within the detection zone, and the PD inside the sensor detects scattered light associated with particles actually suspended in the air. The MCU inside the sensor analyzes the waveform from the PD using an optimized algorithm, then outputs the converted mass density (μg/m³) via I²C and UART interfaces.
