A flow sensor is used to measure the flow rate of liquid passing through it. The YF-S401 water flow sensor consists of a plastic valve body, a flow rotor, and a Hall effect sensor, and is typically used to detect flow at the water inlet. When liquid flows through the sensor, the magnetic rotor spins at a speed proportional to the flow rate, and the Hall effect sensor outputs a pulse width signal. By connecting it to a microcontroller, various devices such as coffee machines and sprinklers can be monitored and water flow can be controlled as needed. It is recommended to use 6mm tubing, avoid exposing the device to corrosive chemicals, mount the device vertically with a tilt of no more than 5 degrees, and keep the liquid temperature below 120℃ to prevent damage.
