Introduction
The ADS1013, ADS1014, and ADS1015 devices (ADS101x) are 12-bit high-precision, low-power analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) compatible with I²C, available in ultra-small leadless X2QFN-10 and VSSOP-10 packages. The ADS101x devices feature a low-drift voltage reference and an oscillator. The ADS1014 and ADS1015 also incorporate a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a digital comparator. These features, along with a wide operating supply voltage range, make the ADS101x well-suited for sensor measurement applications with limited power and space. The ADS101x can perform conversions at data rates of up to 3300 samples per second (SPS). The PGA provides an input range from ±256mV to ±6.144V, enabling accurate measurement of both large and small signals. The ADS1015 uses an input multiplexer (MUX) to support two differential input measurements or four single-ended input measurements. The digital comparator in the ADS1014 and ADS1015 can be used for undervoltage and overvoltage detection. The ADS101x can operate in either continuous conversion mode or single-shot mode. In single-shot mode, these devices automatically power down after a single conversion, significantly reducing power consumption during idle periods.
