Introduction
BL0940 is a clock-embedded, calibration-free energy metering IC designed for applications such as single-phase multi-function energy meters, smart sockets, smart home appliances, and electric bicycle charging stations, offering excellent cost-performance ratio. BL0940 integrates two high-precision Sigma-Delta ADCs along with analog circuit modules including a voltage reference and power management, as well as DSP circuits for processing electrical parameters such as active power, RMS current, and RMS voltage. BL0940 is capable of measuring RMS current, RMS voltage, active power, active energy, and other parameters. It also supports fast RMS current output (for leakage monitoring or overcurrent protection), temperature detection, waveform output, and data transmission via UART/SPI interface — fully meeting the requirements of smart sockets, smart home appliances, single-phase multi-function energy meters, electric bicycle charging stations, and large-scale power consumption data acquisition applications. BL0940 features a patented anti-creep design that, combined with proper external hardware design, ensures noise power is not counted into energy pulses when no current is present.

- Power loss detection — chip enters reset state when supply drops below 2.7V
