Introduction
The Si566 Super-Series Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator employs Skyworks Solutions' advanced 4th-generation DSPLL technology to deliver ultra-low jitter, low phase noise clocks at two selectable frequencies. The device is factory-programmed to provide any two selectable frequencies from 0.2 to 3000 MHz with sub-1 ppb resolution, maintaining ultra-low jitter for both integer and fractional frequencies across its operating range. On-chip power supply filtering delivers industry-leading power supply noise rejection, simplifying the generation of low-jitter clocks in noisy systems with switching power supplies. The Si566 uses industry-standard packaging to significantly streamline the supply chain, enabling Skyworks to ship custom-frequency samples within 1–2 weeks of order receipt. Unlike traditional XOs, which require a different crystal for each output frequency, the Si566 employs a single crystal and DSPLL IC-based approach to generate the required output frequencies. The Si566 can be factory-configured to a wide range of user specifications, including frequency, output format, and OE pin location/polarity. Specific configurations are factory-programmed at the time of shipment, eliminating the long lead times associated with custom oscillators.
