ADI LTC1384CN#PBF

The LTC1384 is an ultra-low power 2-driver/2-receiver RS232 transceiver operating from a single 5V supply. The charge pump requires only four space-saving 0.1µF capacitors.

The transceiver has two operating modes: normal mode and shutdown mode. In normal mode, ICC is only 220µA with unloaded driver outputs. In shutdown mode, the charge pump is disabled, driver outputs are forced to three-state, both receivers remain active, and ICC drops to 35µA. The receiver outputs can be forced to three-state at any time using the receiver enable (RX EN) pin.

The LTC1384 fully complies with all RS232 specifications for data rate and overvoltage. The transceiver operates at data rates up to 120k baud with a 2500pF, 3kΩ load. Driver outputs and receiver inputs can be forced to ±25V without damage and can withstand multiple ±10kV ESD strikes.
