Introduction
This series is ideal for applications requiring the display of eight or more characters of dot matrix information in an aesthetically pleasing manner. These devices are 8-digit, 5×7 dot matrix alphanumeric displays, all housed in a standard 15.24mm (0.6-inch) 28-pin DIP package. The on-board CMOS IC decodes 128 ASCII characters permanently stored in ROM. In addition, 16 programmable symbols can be stored in on-board ROM, providing considerable flexibility for displaying additional symbols and icons. Seven brightness levels offer versatility in adjusting display brightness and power consumption. This series is designed for standard microprocessor interface technology. Display and special functions are accessed via a bidirectional 8-bit data bus.
