Introduction
The AD8300 is a complete 12-bit voltage output DAC designed for single +3V supply operation. Fabricated using CBCMOS process technology, this monolithic DAC offers users low cost and ease of use, making it ideal for single +3V systems. Its guaranteed operating range of +2.7V to +5.5V makes it well suited for battery-powered applications. The full-scale voltage output of 2.0475V is laser trimmed to maintain accuracy over the device's operating temperature range. The binary input data format provides easy-to-use software programmability of half a millivolt per bit. The voltage output is capable of sourcing 5mA.
The double-buffered serial data interface provides high-speed, three-wire (SDI, CLK, and LD) DSP and microcontroller compatible inputs. A chip select (CS) pin simplifies the interfacing of multiple DAC packages, enabling the clock input when held low. In addition, a CLR input allows the output to be set to zero at power-up or on demand.
The AD8300 is specified over the extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The AD8300 is available in plastic DIP and 1.5mm height SO-8 surface mount packages.
