Using a PM2.5 air quality sensor with a breadboard adapter, you can easily monitor and detect the surrounding air quality. The sensor employs laser scattering technology to irradiate suspended particles in the air and collect scattered light, obtaining a curve of scattered light intensity over time. A microprocessor calculates the equivalent particle diameter and the number of particles of different diameters per unit volume. The sensor outputs a data stream at 9600 baud once per second, providing PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10.0 concentrations in both standard and environmental units, as well as particle counts of different sizes per 0.1 L of air. The sensor kit includes a sensor housing, cable, and a 0.1-inch/2.54 mm breakout board. Supply voltage is 5V with 3.3V logic.
