Introduction
PB7130 is a multi-cell lithium battery management IC supporting 5–13 series cell applications. It performs battery pack measurement (cell voltage, current, pack temperature), protection (charge/discharge MOS control), and balancing functions. Single-cell voltage measurement range is 0–5V, compatible with most lithium battery chemistries.
The built-in VADC module provides voltage, temperature, and fast current measurement. The built-in CADC module handles current acquisition for high-accuracy coulomb-counting SOC metering. Multiple current, voltage, temperature, and charge/discharge protection functions are provided, along with 4 charge/discharge MOS control pins.
Supports internal high-current balancing with up to 100mA per channel, simultaneous multi-cell balancing, and multiple intelligent balancing modes.
Supports MCU direct-connect daisy-chain communication, up to 32 devices in a chain, with high-voltage capacitors for AFE cascading.
An internal automatic scheduling system handles timed measurement and real-time protection, reporting to the MCU via interrupt pin to significantly reduce system resource usage and power consumption. Multiple low-power sleep modes are available. In standby state, overcurrent and short-circuit protection remain active, with automatic detection of current flow and charger insertion to resume normal operation. In deep sleep mode, ultra-low power system state retention is achieved.
