Introduction
The TVS0500 can reliably divert up to 43A of IEC 61000-4-5 fault current to protect the system from high-power transient shocks or lightning strikes. This device provides a solution that meets the common EMC requirements of industrial signal lines and can withstand an open-circuit voltage of up to 2kV IEC 61000-4-5 through coupling via a 42Ω resistor. The TVS0500 uses a unique feedback mechanism to ensure precise and smooth clamping capability during faults, guaranteeing that the system contact voltage remains below 10V. Precise voltage regulation allows designers to confidently select system components with lower voltage tolerances, reducing system cost and complexity without sacrificing reliability.
In addition, the TVS0500 also features a small 2mm × 2mm SON package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. Compared with the industry-standard SMA and SMB packages, its size is reduced by 70%. The extremely low device leakage current and capacitance ensure minimal impact on the protected lines. To ensure reliable protection throughout the product's lifespan, the TVS0500 has been tested with 5000 repeated surge shocks in a high-temperature environment, and no change in device performance has been observed.
