Introduction
The FAN73933 is a half-bridge gate driver IC with shutdown and programmable dead-time control functions. It can drive high-speed MOSFETs and insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) with an operating voltage of up to +600V. It features a buffered output stage, and all NMOS transistors are designed to have high pulse current drive capability and minimize overlapping conduction. With high-voltage process and common-mode noise cancellation technology, it can ensure the stable operation of the high-side driver even in a high dv/dt noise environment. The advanced level-shifting circuit enables the high-side gate driver to operate with VS reaching -9.8V (typical) when VBS = 15V. The UVLO circuit prevents the driver circuit from malfunctioning when VDD and VBS are below the specified threshold voltages. The characteristics of high current and low output voltage drop make this device suitable for various applications such as different half-bridge and full-bridge inverters, motor drive inverters, switching power supplies, induction heating, and high-power DC-DC converters.
