Introduction
The SNx4AHC573 device is an eight-bit transparent D-type latch designed for operation from 2V to 5.5V. When the latch enable (LE) input is high, the Q outputs follow the data (D) inputs. When LE is low, the Q outputs are latched at the logic level of the D inputs. A buffered output enable (OE) input can be used to place the eight outputs in the normal logic state (high or low) or in a high-impedance state. In the high-impedance state, the outputs do not significantly load or drive the bus lines. The high-impedance state and enhanced drive capability provide the ability to drive bus lines without the need for interface or pull-up components. OE does not affect the internal operation of the latch. Old data can be retained or new data can be input while the outputs are in the high-impedance state. To ensure a high-impedance state during power-up or power-down, OE should be connected to Vcc through a pull-up resistor; the minimum value of this resistor is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver.
