ADI ADF41020BCPZ

The ADF41020 frequency synthesizer can be used to implement local oscillators up to 18 GHz in the upconversion and downconversion stages of wireless receivers and transmitters. It consists of a low noise digital PFD, a precision charge pump, a programmable reference divider, and high-frequency programmable feedback dividers (A, B, and P). When used with an external loop filter and VCO, a complete PLL can be realized. The frequency synthesizer can drive an external microwave VCO through an active loop filter. Its extremely wide bandwidth eliminates the need for frequency multiplier stages, simplifying system architecture and reducing cost. The ADF41020 is software compatible with the existing ADF4106/ADF4107/ADF4108 family of devices. Apart from the single-ended RF input pin of the ADF41020, the pinouts of these devices are very similar, requiring only minor layout changes when upgrading existing designs.
