Introduction
The AD8017 is a low-cost, dual-channel, high-speed amplifier capable of driving low-distortion signals within 1.0 V of the supply rails. It is primarily designed for single-supply xDSL systems where low distortion and low cost are both critical. Each amplifier can drive a minimum output current of 200 mA. With an SFDR of –78 dBc at 500 kHz, it meets the requirements of many xDSL applications. The AD8017 is fabricated using a high-speed XFCB process, where high bandwidth and fast slew rate minimize distortion and power consumption. Its quiescent current is 7 mA per amplifier. Low distortion, high output voltage drive, and high output current drive make the AD8017 ideal for low-cost customer premises equipment (CPE) in ADSL, SDSL, VDSL, and proprietary xDSL systems. The AD8017 has a very compact form factor. It features a proprietary thermally enhanced package that easily dissipates the total (quiescent and dynamic) power generated when operating from a 12 V supply — no external heatsink is required; simply mount the AD8017 on a 4-layer PCB. The AD8017 operates over a commercial temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.
