Introduction
PPA capacitors feature an MKP construction with double-sided metallized current carriers, axial terminals, suitable for snubber, high-pulse, high-current, and high-frequency applications. The dielectric is polypropylene; electrodes are vacuum-deposited metal layers; coating consists of UL 510 / CSA TIL I-26 polyester tape wrapping and UL 94 V-0 resin end-filling, providing flame-retardant properties. The capacitor is constructed with series-connected extended double-sided metallized carrier films and metallized films; terminals are tinned copper wire (lead-free); protection rating is IP00. Proper heat dissipation must be ensured during mounting; when components are placed side by side, a minimum spacing ≥ 1/2 of the diameter dimension is recommended. Compliant with IEC 61071, IEC 60068, and RoHS requirements; climate category 40/85/56 (IEC 60068/1), GPD (DIN40040). Operating temperature range (case): -40 ~ +85°C; maximum permissible ambient temperature: +70°C (under rated power, current, voltage, and natural cooling conditions). Nominal capacitance (Cn): 0.0047 μF to 6.8 μF; capacitance tolerance (at 1 kHz): ±10% (code K), ±5% (code J), and ±20% (code M); capacitance temperature coefficient refer to general technical information. Long-term stability: capacitance change ≤ ±1% after 2 years under standard ambient conditions. Rated voltage (Ur) (Vdc) at 85°C: 700, 850, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 Vdc; non-repetitive surge voltage (Upk) at 85°C: 1100, 1300, 1550, 1750, 2200, 2600, 3300, 4000 Vdc. Self-inductance ≤ 1 nH/mm (capacitor and lead length for connection); maximum pulse rise rate v/μs refer to product table. Maximum peak current (Ipeak) refer to product table; maximum non-repetitive peak current pk = 1.5 × Ipeak. Dissipation factor (DF) maximum tgδ × 10⁻⁴, measured at 25 ± 5°C, 1 kHz. Insulation resistance (R) ≥ 30000 MΩ but need not exceed 30 GΩ (typical), measured 1 minute after applying 100 Vdc (25 ± 5°C). Terminal-to-terminal test voltage (Ut): 1.6 × Ur (DC) applied for 10 s / 2 × Ur (DC) applied for 2 s, at 25 ± 5°C; terminal-to-case test voltage (Utc): 3 kV, 50 ÷ 60 Hz applied for 60 s, at 25 ± 5°C. Damp heat test (steady state): refer to relevant high-humidity and temperature test list; bias test applies only to production codes after March 2019; bias test applies rated Ur (DC only). Performance requirements: capacitance change varies by test — test "a" ≤ ±2%, tests "b" and "c" ≤ ±10%; DF change in test "a" ≤ 0.0010 (at 1 kHz), tests "b" and "c" ≤ 2 × initial limit (at 1 kHz); insulation resistance RINS ≥ 50% of initial limit. Typical capacitance change vs. operating time: -3% after 30,000 hours at Urms or 100,000 hours at Ur. Expected service life ≥ 100,000 hours (Ur); 30,000 hours (Urms); failure rate 300/10⁶ component hours. Soldering heat resistance test conditions: solder bath temperature = +260 ± 5°C, immersion time (with heat shield) t = 10 ± 1 s; performance requirements: capacitance change ≤ ±1%, DF change ≤ 0.0010 (at 1 kHz), RINS ≥ 50% of initial limit.
