Introduction
The SAM-M8Q GNSS patch antenna module is based on the M8 multi-GNSS engine. The module delivers high sensitivity and extremely short acquisition times in an ultra-compact form factor. It supports simultaneous reception of up to three GNSS systems and provides excellent positioning accuracy in urban canyons or weak-signal environments. For improved and faster positioning, the module supports augmentation systems including QZSS, GAGAN, IMES, WAAS, EGNOS, and MSAS. It also supports message integrity protection, geofencing, and spoofing detection, with configurable interface settings for easy adaptation to customer applications. Integration is straightforward, thanks to the embedded GNSS patch antenna, low power consumption, compact 15.5×15.5×6.3 mm dimensions, simple interface, and advanced interference suppression that ensures performance even in challenging GNSS signal environments. The 15×15 mm patch antenna strikes a balance between RHCP antenna performance and small size. The omnidirectional radiation pattern increases flexibility in device mounting. The SMD design and easy-to-interface characteristics minimize design and manufacturing costs. The module employs an AEC-Q100 qualified GNSS chip and is fully tested at the system level. Qualification is performed in accordance with ISO 16750. The module can also benefit from the AssistNow assistance service.
