Introduction
The LM5067 negative voltage hot-swap controller provides intelligent control of power connections during circuit board insertion and removal from a live system backplane or other "hot-plug" power sources, while limiting system voltage droop and transients through inrush current control. Current limiting and power dissipation in the external series pass N-channel MOSFET are programmable to ensure operation within the safe operating area (SOA). In addition, the LM5067 monitors overcurrent and overvoltage conditions to provide circuit protection. A power-good output is asserted when the output voltage approaches the input voltage. Input undervoltage and overvoltage lockout levels and hysteresis, as well as fault monitoring timing, are all programmable. The LM5067 is available in a 10-pin VSSOP package and a 14-pin SOIC package.
