The CA-IS1306x devices are a family of high-precision isolated Sigma-Delta (ΣΔ) modulators optimized for shunt resistor-based current sensing. Low offset and gain errors along with their associated temperature coefficients maintain measurement accuracy across the full operating temperature range.
The CA-IS1306x devices use silicon dioxide (SiO₂) as the isolation barrier, supporting electrical isolation up to 5 kV_RMS in compliance with UL 1577 certification. This technology separates the high- and low-voltage domains to protect low-voltage components from damage, while providing low emissions and high magnetic field immunity. High common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) ensures that the CA-IS1306x devices accurately transfer signals across the isolation barrier, making them suitable for industrial motor control and drive applications requiring high-voltage, high-power switching. On-chip input common-mode overvoltage and high-side power loss detection facilitate fault diagnosis and system safety.
The CA-IS1306x devices achieve 16-bit resolution at a data throughput rate of 78.1 kSPS using a sinc3 filter, with a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 85 dB. The external clock frequency range spans from 5 MHz to 21 MHz, enabling synchronization while providing application flexibility.
