Introduction
The CDCM6208 is a versatile, low-jitter, low-power frequency synthesizer that can generate eight low-jitter clock outputs using either a unique low-frequency crystal oscillator or one of two inputs of CML, LVPECL, LVDS, or LVCMOS signals. The outputs can be selected from high-swing CML similar to LVPECL, normal-swing CML, low-power CML similar to LVDS, HCSL, or LVCMOS. It is widely applicable to various wireless infrastructure basebands, small cells, wired data communications, computing, low-power medical imaging, and portable test and measurement applications. The CDCM6208 also features an innovative fractional divider architecture for four of its outputs, capable of generating arbitrary frequencies with an accuracy better than 1 ppm. The CDCM6208 can be easily configured via the I²C or SPI programming interface. In the absence of a serial interface, it also offers a pin mode to set the device to one of 32 different pre-programmed configurations through control pins.
