Introduction
RF-BM-2642B1 is a Bluetooth 5.0 module. In addition to integrating a high-performance ARM Cortex-M4F processor for application logic and a dedicated ARM Cortex-M0 processor for the RF core, the module also features a 16-bit low-power sensor processing core. It includes 352 KB of programmable flash memory and 80 KB ultra-low leakage RAM (SRAM). Supports Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 with backward compatibility to Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2 and earlier versions.
The module exposes all I/O pins and complies with FCC, CE, and RoHS regulations for RF and EMC, meeting export requirements. The module integrates an industrial-grade 48 MHz crystal oscillator and a 32.768 kHz low-power clock crystal oscillator. It includes multiple peripherals such as I2C, I2S, UART, SPI, ADC, and GPIO.
The module can operate in bridge mode (transparent transmission mode). In bridge mode, the host MCU can communicate bidirectionally with mobile devices via the module's general-purpose serial port. Users can also manage and control certain communication parameters through specific serial AT commands. The specific meaning of user data is defined by the upper-layer application. Mobile devices can perform write operations to the module via an APP, and the written data will be sent to the host MCU through the module's serial port. Upon receiving data packets from the host MCU's serial port, the module will automatically forward them to the mobile device. For development in this mode, users are responsible for both the host MCU firmware design and the mobile device APP code design.
To ensure program stability, the module begins normal operation 600 ms after power-on. For large-volume transparent data transmission, it is recommended to start 6 seconds after the module establishes a connection, as the connection setup requires time to negotiate MTU, connection interval, and other parameters. Initiating high-speed transparent transmission during this period can easily cause packet loss or device freeze.
Features
- Easy to use, no Bluetooth protocol stack experience required
- Supports all Bluetooth 5.0 features: 2M PHY, Long Range advertising, extended advertising
- Supports BLE single master mode, single slave mode, master-slave mode, and Beacon mode
