The DP83867 device is a robust, low-power, full-featured physical layer transceiver that integrates a PMD sublayer to support the 10BASE-Te, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T Ethernet protocols. The DP83867 is optimized to provide ESD protection that exceeds the 8kV IEC 61000 - 4 - 2 standard (direct contact). The DP83867 can easily implement 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet LANs. It connects directly to twisted-pair media through an external transformer. This device connects directly to the MAC layer via RGMII or embedded clock SGMII. The DP83867 provides precise clock synchronization, including synchronous Ethernet clock output. The device has low latency and provides IEEE 1588 frame start detection. The DP83867 is designed with low power consumption, consuming only 457mW when operating at full power. Wake-on-LAN can be used to reduce system power consumption.
