Introduction
The CC1312R device is a sub-1GHz wireless MCU targeting wireless M-Bus, IEEE 802.15.4g, IPv6-enabled smart objects (6LoWPAN), KNX RF, Wi-SUN, and proprietary systems including TI 15.4-Stack. The CC1312R device is a member of the SimpleLink MCU platform of cost-effective, ultra-low-power, 2.4GHz and sub-1GHz RF devices. Ultra-low active RF and MCU current, sub-1μA sleep current, and up to 80KB parity-protected RAM retention deliver exceptional battery life and enable medium-to-long operation in energy harvesting applications powered by small coin-cell batteries. The CC1312R device combines a flexible ultra-low-power RF transceiver with a powerful 48 MHz Arm Cortex-M4F CPU on a platform supporting multiple physical layers and RF standards. A dedicated radio controller (Arm Cortex-M0) handles low-level RF protocol commands stored in ROM or RAM, ensuring ultra-low power consumption and excellent flexibility. The low power consumption of the CC1312R device does not compromise RF performance — the device delivers outstanding sensitivity and robust (selectivity and blocking) performance. The CC1312R device is a highly integrated true single-chip solution, incorporating a complete RF system and an on-chip DC/DC converter. A programmable, autonomous ultra-low-power sensor controller CPU with 4KB program and data SRAM enables sensor processing at extremely low power. The sensor controller, featuring fast wakeup and an ultra-low-power 2MHz mode, is designed to sample, buffer, and process analog and digital sensor data, allowing the MCU system to maximize sleep time and minimize active power consumption. Wi-Fi, low-power Bluetooth, Thread, Zigbee, sub-1GHz MCU, and host MCU all share a common, easy-to-use development environment comprising a single-core SDK and a rich toolset. Once integrated into the SimpleLink platform, users can add any combination of devices from the product portfolio to their designs, enabling complete code reuse when design requirements change.
