Introduction
ISOUSB111 is a USB 2.0-compatible electrically isolated repeater supporting low-speed (1.5Mbps) and full-speed (12Mbps) signal transfer rates. The device supports automatic speed and connect detection, pull-up/pull-down reflection, and link power management, enabling plug-in USB hub, host, peripheral, and cable isolation. Most microcontrollers integrate a USB PHY and therefore only expose D+ and D- buses as external pins. ISOUSB111 can isolate these pins from the USB bus without requiring any additional intervention from the microcontroller. The device also supports automatic role swap. If a disconnect occurs and a new connection is detected on the upstream port, the upstream and downstream port definitions are swapped. ISOUSB111 offers enhanced isolation options with an isolation withstand voltage of 5000VRMS and a surge test voltage of 12.8kVPK. The device can operate fully from a 4.25V to 5.5V supply (USB VBUS power) or from local 3.3V supplies on side 1 and side 2 (if available). This power supply voltage flexibility allows thermal performance to be optimized based on the power rails available in the system.
