Introduction
HTM1740 is a constant-current LED display driver control IC with strong drive capability, integrating an MCU digital serial interface, data memory, and LED constant-current control driver module. Manufactured using CMOS process, it is primarily designed for high-brightness small-to-medium LED display driving. The IC incorporates clock reset, serial interface, digital control, constant-current control, SEG output, GRID output, and ESD modules. Controlled via a serial interface, it implements three register groups for display control, display mode, and status control. It features a built-in RC oscillator, 16-level adjustable constant-current output, and 16-scan adjustable digit driving. In addition, the chip can be powered on or off and the LED display can be turned on or off through the serial interface. In the ESD module, every pin has ESD discharge paths to both VCC and GND. HTM1740 is a constant-current driver IC designed for LED display panels based on the I2C communication protocol, supporting up to 8-segment × 16-digit output. The number of scanned digits can be configured via registers to achieve higher per-LED drive current. Compared to traditional LED display panel driver ICs, HTM1740 employs a constant-current design: once the display mode is configured, the current through each LED remains constant and does not fluctuate due to changes in the number of illuminated LEDs or variations in input voltage.
