Introduction
SM5308 is a multifunctional power management SOC integrating a boost converter, lithium battery charge management, and battery level indication, providing a complete power solution for power banks. The high integration and rich feature set of SM5308 require minimal external components in application, effectively reducing the overall solution size and lowering BOM cost. SM5308 requires only a single inductor to implement both buck and boost functions, with support for low-cost inductors and capacitors. SM5308's synchronous boost system delivers a maximum output current of 2.4A with conversion efficiency up to 92%. Under no-load conditions, it automatically enters sleep mode, reducing quiescent current to 10uA. SM5308 adopts switched charging technology, providing a maximum charging current of 2.1A with charging efficiency up to 91%. Built-in IC temperature and input voltage sensing intelligently regulates the charging current. SM5308 supports 1, 2, 3, and 4 LED battery level display. SM5308 is available in an ESOP8 package.
