Introduction
PT6010 is a battery protection IC designed for 8~10-cell series Li-ion/polymer, LiFePO₄, or lithium titanate battery packs. It reduces the risk of battery damage or shortened cycle life caused by overcharge, overdischarge, overtemperature, and/or overcurrent conditions. The ±25mV overcharge detection voltage accuracy ensures safe full-capacity charging. The ±10mV current sense voltage accuracy ensures precise overcurrent discharge triggering. The charge overtemperature protection threshold and discharge overtemperature protection threshold of the PT6010 can be independently set via external resistors. The PT6010 can directly drive external N-channel charge MOSFETs and N-channel discharge MOSFETs, and features dedicated CCTL and DCTL pins, allowing users to control the charge/discharge MOSFETs according to application requirements. The PT6010 supports multi-chip cascading to accommodate applications with a greater number of series-connected cells. The PT6010 reports charge overtemperature, discharge overtemperature, charge low temperature, discharge overcurrent/short circuit, charge overcurrent, overvoltage, and undervoltage events through 3 independent output pins, enabling flexible MCU-based application designs. The PT6010's low-power design allows the battery pack to draw negligible current during storage.
