This device is a low-power, 15Mbps RS-485/RS-422 transceiver powered by a 3.3V supply. The receiver supports one-eighth unit load, allowing up to 256 nodes per bus, with fail-safe features ensuring a high output state under open or short-circuit input conditions. When the device is disabled or powered down, the driver maintains high output impedance across the entire common-mode range. Current limiting and thermal shutdown on all outputs prevent excessive power dissipation due to bus contention or faults. Enhanced ESD protection enables the device to withstand voltages up to ±15kV (Human Body Model) on the transceiver interface pins without latch-up or damage.
