The MAX3086E is a high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with ±1kV ESD protection, integrating both a driver and receiver. The device guarantees that the receiver output remains logic-high when the driver input is open or shorted. This means that on a terminated bus, if the driver is disabled (high-impedance state), the receiver output will be logic-high. The MAX3086E driver features an slew-rate-unlimited output, enabling data rates up to 10Mbps. All devices feature ESD protection, with all driver outputs and receiver inputs providing ±15kV protection per the Human Body Model. These transceivers typically draw low supply current when unloaded or with the driver disabled. All devices feature 1/8-unit-load receiver input impedance, allowing up to 256 drivers on the bus. The MAX3086E is suitable for full-duplex communication.
