Introduction
The MAX3081 high-speed transceiver is designed for RS-485/RS-422 communication, integrating one driver and one receiver. The device guarantees a logic-high output when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This means that if all drivers on the terminated bus are disabled (high-impedance), the receiver output will be logic high. The MAX3081 features a reduced driver slew rate to minimize EMI and reduce signal reflections caused by improper cable termination, enabling error-free data transmission at up to 15kbps. These transceivers typically draw low supply current when idle or when the driver is disabled. All devices feature 1/8 unit load receiver input impedance, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on a single bus. The MAX3081 is designed for full-duplex communication.
