Introduction
The TJA1051 high-speed CAN transceiver provides an interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. Designed for high-speed CAN applications in the automotive industry, it offers differential transmit and receive capability for CAN protocol controllers. The TJA1051 delivers improved EMC and ESD performance, with the following features: ideal passive behavior on the CAN bus when power is off; variants with a VIO pin for direct interfacing with microcontrollers operating at supply voltages from 3.3V to 5V. The TJA1051 implements the CAN physical layer as defined in ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284-1 through SAE J2284-5. This implementation supports reliable communication at data rates up to 5Mbps during the CAN FD fast phase.
