Introduction
PAM8904Q is a piezoelectric sounder driver designed to drive ceramic/piezoelectric sounders or speakers at an 18VPP output from a 3V supply. A programmable charge pump boost converter enables the PAM8904Q VOUT to operate in 1×, 2×, and 3× modes. The boost converter operates at a fixed frequency of 1.0MHz, delivering a 9V output with minimal external components. PAM's unique drive technology ensures minimum inrush current, low EMI, and high efficiency. To maximize efficiency and battery life, the PAM8904Q includes an automatic standby function that puts the device into sleep mode when no valid input signal is present. A forced shutdown function is also provided to enable the IC only when needed. To protect the IC and system, the PAM8904Q includes over-temperature shutdown, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection. The PAM8904Q is available in a 16-pin U-QFN3030-16 (Type B) package. The PAM8904Q is AEC-Q100 Grade 2 compliant, meeting automotive requirements and supporting the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
